Kyle West // owner and director

Kyle West, owner and director of West Design, has always been artistically inclined even from an early age, and has pursued his interests throughout his education. 

After experimenting with drafting classes in high school, he entered a Master’s of Architecture program at Kansas State University. Kyle then interned in the field of landscape design and horticulture services. Upon completion of his Master’s Degree in 2010, he entered the field full time working with The Lawrence Group in St. Louis, MO.

His unique duality of an education in architecture and background in landscape design has helped him develop an ability to create a clear connection between interior and exterior spaces.

While in school, Kyle’s close proximity to the Konza Prairie lead him to an appreciation for native plant species. Further travels and studies throughout Europe and South America have exposed him to a wide variety of plant materials and design styles.

Kyle’s design experience is diverse – ranging from architectural design to high impact design in small city landscapes to large landscape renovations, including hardscape, softscape, and lighting installations.

Kyle is committed to creating thoughtful and responsive designs. His solutions result from a clear understanding of his clients’ needs and desires and the unique characteristics of their site.
